Today, Nintendo announced that they will host a Direct at 5pm ET tomorrow. The Direct will run for approximately 35 minutes and feature upcoming games for the Switch.
This is what I think you can expect:
- We will get more details about Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Nintendo confirmed it will be covered and should be the main topic of the Direct. Since they have already said it will be out this Spring, my guess is that we will get a firm date and I think it will be in May. I expect this part to take about 5 minutes
- More details and a date for Animal Crossing Switch with the date on that probably some time this Summer
- More details and a date for Luigi’s Mansion 3 and I hope it comes out in October to fit in with Halloween
- Some more information about Yoshi’s Crafted World which comes out at the end of next month
- I think we will get a date for Daemon X Machina and my guess is that will come out late Summer
- My guess is there will be a Splatoon 2 event coming up, or maybe more maps for multiplayer
- I think there will be details about Joker from Persona 5 coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and they will probably reveal the next fighter for Smash
Here are a few things I do not expect to hear about:
- Metroid Prime 4, or a Metroid Prime Trilogy port
- We will not hear about the next Pokémon game. I think will be covered at E3.
- I don’t think we will get any information on the unannounced Switch game that Nintendo is working on and confirmed for this year. This will likely be an announcement at E3 later this year.
- Nintendo DS games since the notification from Nintendo specifically mentions Switch games
