Here are a few more of the great games I had the pleasure to play while I was at PAX East last month!

Heave Ho

Heave Ho is couch co-op platformer in which up to 4 players use their left and right hands to form chains to move around. Think the Barrel of Monkeys toys that are popular amongst little kids. You use momentum to swing from one platform to the next. You better hope the person on the far end of the chain can catch the next object or your whole team could go splat. It is incredibly fun with a group of people and was one of my favorite games from PAX! Look for it this summer on PC and Nintendo Switch.

Kunai is a quirky platformer about a Tablet that has the spirit of ancient warrior inside him and is fighting evil robots in a time after humanity has ended. It has a unique art style in that only a handful of colors are used. This is unique in today’s gaming where many contemporaries are using as wide array of colors. The game has fun platforming elements and fast paced combat. Kunai doesn’t have a release date yet, but keep an eye out for it on PC and Nintendo Switch.

Olija is a platforming game about a man that was shipwrecked. He has a spear that he can use to teleport to other points. This makes for some unique movement opportunities and puzzles. The 8-bit style graphics are very well done and the gameplay is smooth. There is no release date for it yet, but it will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Project Witchstone

This game is early on in development, but it is one that any fan of RPGs, especially Baldur’s Gate, should be interested in. I didn’t get a chance to play it, but one of the developers walked me through a lot of it. The world seems very interactive and offers several options that should make for multiple playthroughs. When this game comes out, it is one you will want to play!
