Every person has a little nerd in them!  Show me someone that says they don’t, and I will show you a liar.  Not to be cliché.

Americans love their gaming devices, starting in the 1940’s with Westinghouse’s Matchstick game!  The market was then enthralled with them.  From the archaic game to the birth of the modern video game in 1972 with Pong, video games are loved by all at one level or another.  You can see the history of video games here -> http://www.museumofplay.org/about/icheg/video-game-history

Some people’s nerdiness is to comic books.  From Detective Comics and Action Comics – Superman and Batman respectively to the newer comics like Deadpool and Rick and Morty.  There is a genre of cartoon comics that you will love.  The one strip that I love more than anything is Calvin and Hobbes! Comic books have always traditionally been a nerdy outlook, but guaranteed someone somewhere loves at least one comic – even if it is the iconic Peanuts.

Nerdiness expands to any realm you want.  Forever gone are the days of the nerds, jocks, goth, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera…

Everyone loves something nerdy these days, and together at the Alpha Nerds Guild we will put those stereotypes behind us.  We want to make sure that we eradicate the stereotype of nerd and realize that we are all nerdy in some way, shape, or form.

Today we have nerds that love doing things that were considered nerdy twenty years ago.  We have board gamers, video gamers, comic book enthusiasts, cooking nerds, auto-mechanic nerds (formerly known as gearheads), writers, cartoonists, and so on…  And in the immortal words of Gilbert from Revenge of the Nerds: “I just wanted to say that I’m a nerd, and I’m here tonight to stand up for the rights of other nerds. I mean uh, all our lives we’ve been laughed at and made to feel inferior. And tonight, those bastards, they trashed our house. Why? Cause we’re smart? Cause we look different? Well, we’re not. I’m a nerd, and uh, I’m pretty proud of it. (1984)”

Welcome to the Alpha Nerds Guild website.  I hope you enjoy  your time here and come back soon and often!
