I embarked on this journey, not knowing exactly what I was in for. Man…hindsight is 20/20.
I had tried games that were similar before, but never anywhere near this difficult. I started at level one. I state this because all of the levels are unlocked immediately. This game has been the hardest game I have ever tried. It starts off simple enough. Three different colors and a few cells to start out with. The main objective is to make all the cells the same color. Sounds simple, right?
Here’s the kicker. If you change one color, depending on where you are in the puzzle, you could be changing the colors of the cells around you OR you could be changing entire rows. This made the level of difficulty harder. Never one to give up easily, I played through the first level and beat it within two minutes. VICTORY!!!! Hubris started to get the best of me immediately. The second level took me a little over 10 minutes. I didn’t realize the time it took me to beat the third level because I was getting into it at this point. The soundtrack had a way of stealing time and adding an element of fun to the game, all by itself. 37 minutes had passed. I had beaten the third level!
The fourth level was too much for me. I spent well over an hour and had all but one cell green. I was pushed to my mental breaking point. I didn’t rage quit, but I did concede the match. It was only after I suddenly realized the street light was on that I knew an hour had passed.
If you have a few hours to kill, this is definitely the game for you. It challenges your mind, as well as your patience.
